Customer Service Associate
Pay Rate: $35,000 - $38,000

The Gilchrist County Tax Collector’s office has an opening for a full-time customer service associate. Duties include but are not limited to providing services for numerous State of Florida agencies including but not limited to registrations, titles, driver license services, hunting and fishing licenses and concealed weapons permits to name just a few as well as collecting property taxes for Gilchrist County. This position requires the ability to learn and utilize State of Florida policies, procedures, and rules for each service provided. We are looking for friendly faces that work well with the public in a fast-paced environment who have good work ethic and are dependable.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be a US citizen, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license.
  • Applicants must submit to pre-employment drug screening and fingerprinting/background investigation in accordance with FDLE standards.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is vital.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and utilize State of Florida policy and procedure in every transaction.
  • Must be comfortable performing driving tests in customer’s vehicle.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions/directions and take notes for retention purposes.
  • Ability to proficiently navigate multiple computer programs, keyboard/typing and calculator skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly/professionally with customers, have good phone etiquette and multitask.
  • Ability to work with multiple payment types, proficiently handle cash, give correct change and balance cash drawer daily, previous cashiering experience required.
